Hero Siege Beginner Guide
Everything you need to know for your first 10 hours. Learn the game, pick a class, choose a build, and start progressing.
What Is Hero Siege?
Hero Siege is a top-down action RPG with roguelike elements. The core loop is straightforward: kill monsters, collect loot, defeat bosses, and unlock harder difficulties. Each difficulty tier offers better rewards and new challenges.
Kill Monsters
Clear maps filled with enemies, packs, and elites. Combat is fast-paced and action-oriented.
Collect Loot
Gather weapons, armor, runes, and relics from defeated enemies to power up your character.
Beat Bosses
Defeat zone bosses to unlock the next difficulty tier and access better gear.
Game Modes & Difficulty
Hero Siege offers multiple game modes and a progressive difficulty ladder. As a new player, start in Normal difficulty and work your way up.
Game Modes
- Season — Fresh start each season with new mechanics (recommended)
- Odyssey — Permanent progression mode
- Hardcore — One life only. Not for beginners.
Difficulty Progression
- Normal — Tutorial difficulty, learn the basics
- Hell 1–5 — Core progression, each tier harder
- Inferno — Endgame, best loot and toughest bosses
Choose Your First Class
These 4 classes are the most beginner-friendly. Higher star ratings mean easier to learn and survive with minimal gear.

Necromancer
Summoner / Caster★★★★★Raise undead armies and cast death magic. Multiple sub-builds with varying viability.

Viking
Melee / Lightning★★★★☆Norse warrior with lightning and melee skills. Versatile class with AoE and single-target options.

Samurai
Melee / Ranged Hybrid★★★★☆Fast-paced hybrid with kunai, blade barrier, shuriken, and quick slash builds.

Illusionist
Summoner / Illusion★★★★☆S9 S-tier starter. Summons illusions that multiply and swarm enemies.
Your First 10 Hours
Tutorial & First Steps
Complete the tutorial, choose your first difficulty (Normal), and familiarize yourself with basic controls: movement, attacking, and skill usage. Don't worry about builds yet — just explore.

Select a beginner-friendly class and push through Normal difficulty to reach Hell 1. Focus on leveling your core skills and collecting any gear drops. Don't chase perfect gear at this stage.
