S-Tier: Dominant in the current meta. Excellent performance in both AoE clear and bossing with minimal gear investment.
A-Tier: Strong and viable for all endgame content. May require moderate gear or game knowledge to reach full potential.
B-Tier: Solid picks with specific strengths. Good for players who enjoy the playstyle, though not the absolute fastest option.
C-Tier: Niche or limited by current meta. Can still clear all content but requires more investment and optimization.
D-Tier: Weakest in the current season. Still playable with high investment, but outclassed by higher-tier alternatives.
F-Tier: Not currently viable for endgame content without exceptional gear and optimization.

We rank builds, not just classes. Each build is evaluated on AoE clear speed, single-target boss damage, survivability, gear dependency, and ease of use. Rankings reflect endgame performance in Hell 5+ and Inferno difficulty for Season 9 Incarnation.

Necromancer (5-star beginner rating) is the most forgiving — minion armies tank for you. Samurai and Viking are strong second choices with straightforward mechanics. Don't let tier rankings scare you away from beginner-friendly classes: a B-tier class you understand will outperform an S-tier class you don't.

No. Low-tier means the build requires more investment (gear, game knowledge, skill optimization) to achieve similar results to higher-tier builds. Many D-tier classes have dedicated communities and can clear all Inferno content with the right setup. Our rankings measure relative strength, not absolute viability.

This tier list is updated with each season balance patch. Current rankings reflect Season 9 — Incarnation meta as of 2026-04-03. Season 10 will bring major skill tree changes and will require a full re-rank.

Rankings are based on solo play. Some classes perform differently in group content due to synergy effects. We plan to add separate multiplayer rankings in a future update.
