What this page covers

Season 10 launched as Ebontharn on August 21, 2026. This page tracks the post-launch hotfixes that can change a route, farming decision, or build interaction. It is a summary, not a replacement for the official patch notes.

Patch 7.0.2

Patch 7.0.2 raised Abyssal Chest magic find to 24% on Inferno and 35% on Hell. It also added Act 9 quest NPC indicators and minimap guidance, then addressed market, multiplayer, and stability problems.

Patches 7.0.3 through 7.0.5

The later hotfixes continued to change live systems. The official notes list Ether adjustments in 7.0.3, an Abyssal Chest hitbox fix in 7.0.4, and a 7.0.5 fix for chests blocked by invisible loot-filter items. Recheck the announcement before relying on a previously saved route or farming setup.

Read the version before you read the opinion

A patch number is the minimum context for a Season 10 claim. Start with the version and publication date, then decide which part of the update affects the activity you are doing. Progression changes affect access to acts or difficulties. Reward changes affect whether a farming event is worth including. Stability fixes explain why an interaction, quest, or item setup may not behave as an older video shows. A long changelog is not a universal build guide.

The Act 9 NPC and minimap guidance in 7.0.2 matters to someone whose campaign objective is unclear. The later Abyssal Chest fixes matter to a player whose chest will not interact or whose loot filter hides a required item. Ether changes only matter once the character uses the affected system. Separating these categories prevents a common mistake: rebuilding a character for a line that has no bearing on its current route.

What changed for progression

The Ebontharn launch made Act 8 part of the base-game path and put free Act 9 after Odin in Act 8. The launch announcement also says that completing Normal preserves waypoints in Nightmare, and describes Nightmare as roughly Hell 1 while Hell is roughly Hell 4.5 before Inferno. Those are broad Season 10 progression changes, not a promise that every older difficulty walkthrough remains correct.

Use the in-game objective, map, and NPC guidance first. If a route does not progress, note the act, difficulty, boss, remaining quest text, and patch version before looking for a fix. That evidence is more useful than repeating a campaign segment from memory. It also makes it easier to distinguish a missed interaction from an issue that was changed or fixed after the guide was published.

What changed for farming and rewards

The Abyssal Chest is a Season 10 encounter with up to five nearby levers. Pulling at least one lever permits the chest sequence, while more levers increase the final encounter and scale the rewards. Patch 7.0.2 then changed the listed magic-find values to 24% on Inferno and 35% on Hell. These values explain a balance adjustment, but they do not guarantee a valuable drop in one run.

A reward adjustment is a reason to retest a route, not a reason to repeat a claim such as best farm without evidence. Record the difficulty, number of levers, run time, deaths or resets, and drops that actually help your character or trade plan. A small repeated log gives you a better answer than one lucky screenshot. If a later patch changes interaction behavior, test that change separately rather than treating all of your results as one data set.

A practical patch-check routine

Before following a build, find the patch number stated by the author. If it predates the current hotfixes, compare its core mechanics with the official announcement. Check skill interactions, quest blockers, reward values, and the exact endgame system the build depends on. An older guide may still explain leveling order, gear priorities, or class concepts well. It becomes unsafe only when its patch context is omitted and its conclusion is presented as confirmed current meta.

After a hotfix, test one claim at a time. If a guide says a chest should open after an action, test that interaction with your current loot filter. If it says an Ether choice is mandatory, verify that the node exists and has the claimed effect in your client. This approach is less dramatic than copying a video, but it avoids costly respecs and gives you a precise patch number when reporting a problem to the community or the developer.

What this guide does not rank

This page does not publish a Season 10 tier list. The build cards currently preserved on this site are Season 9 references, so presenting them as fresh Season 10 rankings would be misleading. Patch notes say what changed; they do not prove which class is strongest in every activity. A credible ranking needs current build evidence, repeatable performance context, and a stated patch window.

Use this page as an update index. Follow the official announcement for the complete change list, use the Ebontharn guide for Act 9 context, and use a class or build page only after checking its verification date. A qualified answer is more useful than a confident but unsupported best-build label during a fast hotfix window.

Use the right source for the right question

For patch numbers, launch features, and documented fixes, the official Steam announcement is the source of record. A community guide is useful for a route, a recorded test, or an explanation of a confusing screen, but it should name its version and show its limits. A video title, a search snippet, or an old comment is not evidence that a mechanic remains unchanged after a hotfix.

When sources disagree, do not average them into a false answer. Check which source is newer, whether it refers to the same difficulty and activity, and whether the developer has published a relevant change. If the conflict remains, leave the point unresolved and test it in game. This rule matters most for balance conclusions, because a single successful build run does not establish a general ranking.

Frequently asked questions

What is the latest Hero Siege Season 10 patch covered here?+
This guide covers 7.0.2 through 7.0.5 as of August 29, 2026. Use the linked official announcement for newer patches.
Did Season 10 change Abyssal Chests?+
Yes. The official notes include magic-find adjustments and later fixes for the chest hitbox and loot-filter interaction.
Should I trust a Season 10 build that has no patch number?+
Treat it as a lead, not a confirmed recommendation. Check its source date, compare its core claims with official notes, and avoid calling it current meta until its patch context is clear.
Why does this guide link to the official announcement instead of copying every line?+
A live hotfix page changes quickly. The official announcement remains the canonical full changelog, while this guide explains which changes are likely to affect progression, reward decisions, and common troubleshooting.
Do patch notes prove a class is the best in Season 10?+
No. They document changes, not a complete ranking. A current tier list needs build evidence and a defined activity as well as a patch date.
What should I check first after a new hotfix?+
Check the version number, then review only the progression, reward, skill, or stability lines that touch your route. Test one affected interaction before changing gear, respecs, or a full farming plan.
